Traverse City, Michigan – June 17, 2025

LochenHeath Golf Club proudly celebrates a major milestone as professional golfer J.J. Spaun, coached by LochenHeath’s Director of Instruction, Adam Schriber, claimed victory at the 125th U.S. Open Championship this past weekend at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.

Facing challenging course conditions and fierce competition, Spaun demonstrated resilience and skill to emerge atop a tightly contested leaderboard. After a difficult start—recording five bogeys in the first six holes—Spaun staged a remarkable comeback. A pivotal moment came with a spectacular 22-foot birdie putt on the 14th hole, bringing him back to even par and ultimately securing his first U.S. Open title.
