Golf Course History
LochenHeath Golf Club rests on a scenic bluff overlooking East Grand Traverse Bay on the northwestern coast of the Lower Peninsula and was once a cherry orchard owned and operated for over 75 years by the Maitland family. Fifteen years ago, the Maitlands converted the orchard into a luxury golf course. This private club opened to great fanfare as a residential golf course development, centered by the award-winning 7,239 yard course designed by acclaimed Florida architect Steve Smyers. This impressive community features generous luxury home sites situated throughout a brilliant championship golf course. Several of these home sites number among the most beautiful and highly sought-after waterfront lots in the area. LochenHeath's distinctive and elegant architectural style creates a unique residential identity. LochenHeath is a paradise for lovers of the outdoors, golf and access to beautiful East Grand Traverse Bay.
The Club was purchased in the fall of 2010 by a committed group of LochenHeath homeowners and members. The club is inviting limited outside play to experience the golf course at LochenHeath Golf Club.
